VISIT: Ifakara, partners discuss future research collaborations

The Ifakara Health Institute welcomed esteemed partners from the Netherlands to its branch office in Kingani, Bagamoyo. The visit provided a pivotal opportunity for discussions and strategic planning about ongoing studies and the forging of future collaborations.

The meeting, held on April 19, 2024, was attended by representatives from Landcent, and spearheaded by the leader of Ifakara’s Vector Control Product Testing Unit (VCPTU), Sarah Moore and colleagues, Jason Moore, and Olukayode Odufuwa.

Representatives from Landcent, renowned entities in the healthcare domain, convened for a series of engaging sessions aimed at fortifying collaborative endeavors. Discussions delved into a spectrum of topics, ranging from current research initiatives to the exploration of novel avenues for expanded cooperation in healthcare.

In an effort to offer a comprehensive understanding of its operations and research prowess, Ifakara facilitated an extensive tour of its cutting-edge facilities in Kingani. Guided by Sarah and Jason Moore, the visiting partners were afforded a firsthand glimpse into the inner workings of Ifakara's Vector Control Product Testing Unit (VCPTU).

This immersive experience shed light on Ifakara's innovative approaches to the prevention and control of vector-borne diseases, exemplifying its dedication to pioneering solutions that address pressing health challenges.

Concluding the visit, both parties expressed excitement surrounding the potential for impactful joint initiatives that will contribute to advancing healthcare outcomes and benefitting communities worldwide.
