Senior Administrative Officer – Research Division

Ms. Sheikha Salum is a Business Administration, graduate specializing in Corporate Management from Mzumbe University, Tanzania. She Joined the Institute in 2013 as a Dar es salaam Branch Administrative Officer, and has since gained experience of working in ensuring compliance in Institutional Administrative systems and monitoring their outputs. Now, as the Senior Administrative Officer, Ms. Salum is responsible for all administrative and human resources management activities in the division including reporting, logistical, event planning and procurement activities. She has received a certification for Communication Skills and Customer Interface from SELECT Training and Management Consultancy in Dubai (2014) and continues to maintain multi-level relationships within the institute and with external stakeholders. Ms. Salum Possesses excellent time and management skills suitable for working in the Institute’s fast paced, target-focused setting. She is a Creative thinker working closely with Thematic Group Leaders to offer administrative support and ensure that the Research, as a Core business of the Institute, is effectively managed. Sheikha has a highly versatile skills base and has led major institutional efforts including the recent recreation of IHI’s online presence, and the redesigning of institutional web pages. Her current roles include maintaining and supporting our in-country and international relations, including relationships with members of our governance organs and scientific advisory committee. She also regularly supports and has gained significant experience on media relations., as well as our institutional relations with the Government of Tanzania.
