Today, Ifakara Health Institute was pleased to join the official press conference for the Dar Night Run (DNR) 2026, alongside fellow sponsors and partners, ahead of the much-anticipated event on 29 August 2026 in Dar es Salaam.

As part of our 70th anniversary celebrations and in commemoration of World Mosquito Day, Ifakara is taking part in DNR 2026 under the theme #OutrunTheBite: 70 Years of Science Against Tanzania’s Deadliest Creature.

The Institute was represented by Ifakara scientists Swai Kyeba and Yeromin Mlacha, who highlighted Ifakara’s work and contribution to mosquito and malaria research.

On race day, the Ifakara booth will bring mosquito research closer to the public, offering an opportunity to learn about our work on mosquitoes and malaria, explore interactive research activities, and discover how science is helping shape better approaches to malaria control.

Malaria testing will also be available at the Ifakara booth, providing an opportunity for participants and members of the public to access this important health service.

We look forward to taking 70 years of science beyond the laboratory and into the community.
