VISIT: Ifakara researchers visit UK institutions to share project findings and explore collaborations

Researchers from the Ifakara Health Institute (IHI) working on the Provider Payment methods in Tanzania (PPMT) project recently visited the United Kingdom, where they engaged with colleagues at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and the University of Manchester to share project findings and explore opportunities for future research collaboration.

The visit provided an opportunity for IHI researchers Dr. Peter Binyaruka, Principal Investigator and Health Economist; Francis Ngadaya, Health Economist; and John Maiba, Social Scientist, to share findings from the PPMT project, exchange knowledge with international research partners, and explore opportunities for future collaboration.

Strengthening research partnerships

During the visit, the IHI researchers also held a project meeting with colleagues at LSHTM to discuss the CAMFED project, a collaborative research initiative jointly implemented by Ifakara and LSHTM.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the teams to review project activities, exchange updates and strengthen coordination between the collaborating institutions.

The engagements reflect Ifakara's continued commitment to advancing research through knowledge sharing, international partnerships and collaborative initiatives that contribute to improving health and well-being.
