A high-profile delegation from Novartis - a global healthcare company based in Switzerland – paid a brief tour of Ifakara Health Institute (IHI) research facilities in Bagamoyo and Ifakara on October 3 and 4 2019 respectively. The Swiss company provides solutions to address the evolving needs of patients worldwide.

The facilities visits focused on the clinical trial research in malaria, tuberculosis, neglected tropical diseases, non-communicable diseases and the link between communicable diseases, such as TB and non-communicable diseases, such as diabetes.

The visit comes at a time IHI implements its five-year (2018-2023) strategic plan which underlines strengthening engagement with public health stakeholders. Novartis, which brands itself as a healthcare firm reimagining the future, is among key stakeholders that IHI partners with. #
