Ifakara Health Institute (IHI) staff joined members of the community from all walks of life in Ifakara and its nearby suburbs in observing World AIDS Day on December 1, 2019, with a series of coordinated events.

The Chronic Diseases Clinic in Ifakara (CDCI) hosted the Public Engagement Event in collaboration with Knowledge Management and Communications Unit and other partners. Kilombero District Commissioner James Ihunyo was in the list of attendees.

The day started with a short fun run and culminated with a number of activities at Jongo Primary School grounds aimed to create awareness about HIV, including HIV testing and counseling, HIV education, and screening of non-communicable diseases.
