From March 11-15, 2024, the Communications Unit alongside the ICT unit at the Ifakara Health Institute engaged in a comprehensive training on Live Streaming and Digital Content Curation facilitated by Mwananchi Communications Limited through their program “Mwananchi Academy”. The primary objective was to strengthen digital communication efforts within the Institute.

This training lasted five days and covered a diverse array of crucial topics. Sessions encompassed strategic planning for digital content creation and effective data communication and visualization techniques through infographics. Moreover, the training extended to encompass live streaming methodologies for both indoor and outdoor settings.

Participants included Communication Officers Silma Swaibu, Saburi Seif, and Jane Moshi, along with the Deputy Information and Communications Technology Manager, Kilongi Kayera. Facilitators from Mwananchi included George Helahela, Halili Letea, and Geoffrey Mlwilo.

Before this, the team underwent a rigorous two-week training program in February, focusing primarily on live streaming, facilitated by other industry experts, including those from the Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC).

Following the training, the team were presented with certificates of completion by Vivian Temi, the Corporate Affairs Manager of Mwananchi, acting on behalf of Mwananchi’s Managing Director.

This crucial training aimed to strengthen the Ifakara's proficiency in executing future communication initiatives that require skills and experience for managing digital contents, in alignment with Ifakara’s strategic objectives.
