From March 25-27, 2024, the Ifakara Health Institute has been participating in the International Primary Health Care Conference held at the Jakaya Kikwete Convention Centre in the Tanzania’s capital city - Dodoma.

This conference, organized by the President's Office - Regional Administration, and Local Governments (PO-RALG), saw the esteemed presence of President Samia Suluhu Hassan, various key ministries and public health stakeholders.

Under the theme of "Primary Health Care (PHC) as a vehicle for the journey to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in Tanzania,” the conference aims to address critical issues and strategies concerning public health and healthcare accessibility in the country.

Dr. Moshi Shabani from our research teams at Kingani in Bagamoyo, actively engaged in the conference proceedings. Notably, Dr. Shabani presented his work during a side event titled "Technology, Innovation, and Research."

The Primary Health Care Conference 2024 serves as a crucial platform for stakeholders to collaborate, exchange ideas, and formulate strategies toward building a more robust and inclusive healthcare system in the country.
