#NANENANE2024: Ifakara Innovation Hub showcases eco-friendly stove
The Ifakara Innovation Hub program of the Ifakara Health Institute is participating in this year's Farmer's Exhibition in Morogoro, showcasing one of their startup's innovations: an eco-friendly stove that provides cleaner, safer cooking solutions.
The stove, named Pamoto Poa, offers a healthier alternative to traditional cooking methods by eliminating the release of toxic smoke and soot, which are hazardous to human health.
Developed by the Pace Initiative for Smallholders (PIS), the stove is designed to be an affordable energy source, making it accessible to local communities and contributing to improved health and environmental outcomes.
Over the years, the Ifakara Innovation Hub has been dedicated to empowering local communities within the Ifakara region and across Tanzania through education, training, and offering both technical and financial support. Their efforts focus on developing innovations that provide sustainable solutions to enhance public health and rural livelihoods.
