From October 1-2, 2024, Ifakara Health Institute trained the research team for the mid-term review (MTR) of Tanzania's Health Sector Strategic Plan V (HSSP V) to ensure data quality. This training involved research consultants, local investigators, and representatives from the Ministry of Health, with data collection expected to be carried out in eight regions of mainland Tanzania, covering 17 districts.

Ifakara provided technical support for the MTR of HSSP V, a review commissioned by the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO). The review was vital for evaluating the progress of HSSP V and offering guidance for its continued implementation, while also shaping the upcoming HSSP VI.

Throughout the MTR process, Ifakara worked closely with the Ministry of Health and other key stakeholders to ensure the review was completed as planned.

The outcomes of this review were crucial in guiding Tanzania’s health sector's strategic direction, ensuring it met population needs and responded effectively to emerging health challenges. Ifakara’s involvement in the MTR underscored its commitment to advancing health in Tanzania and supporting the nation’s health sector goals.
