AWARD: Ifakara scientific committee member selected for prestigious award in the field of medicine
The Ifakara Health Institute proudly celebrates Dr. Kaushik Laxmidas Ramaiya, a distinguished member of our Scientific Advisory Committee, for his outstanding contributions to the health sector that has earned him a prestigious award on medicine.
Dr. Ramaiya – Chief Executive Officer at the Shree Hindu Mandal Hospita – is a renowned physician in Dar es Salaam, has been selected as a recipient of the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award (PBSA) 2025 in the field of medicine.
The Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award is the highest honor conferred on overseas Indians. It is presented by the Honorable President of India during the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention, which this year will be held from January 8–10, 2025, in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The awards ceremony will take place during the Valedictory Session on January 10.
Dr. Ramaiya’s selection for this prestigious award recognizes his exceptional dedication to advancing medical science and improving lives in Tanzania. His achievements reflect the values and mission of Ifakara Health Institute, driving impactful research and innovation in public health.
