Research Scientist (1 Post) - Transmission Zero, Bagamoyo

The Research Scientist has to be an expert in molecular biology with a specialization in biotechnology and related studies, this role demands a robust understanding of molecular biology techniques.

Position Summary
Ifakara Health Institute is looking for a qualified Research Scientist to join the Transmission Zero Project. The Research Scientist will be responsible for assisting in performing comprehensive laboratory experiments involving analysis of DNA, RNA, and protein under supervision,  contributing to conducting microinjection of samples with DNA constructs, subsequent screening and characterization of gene edited samples through microscopy under supervision.

He/she will also be responsible for contributing to optimization of experimental protocols and maintenance of laboratory equipment and   maintaining accurate and detailed records of all performed experiments.

Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in molecular biology, genetics, biotechnology, or a related field, with knowledge of safety protocols and laboratory practices in molecular biology related research.
