POLICY PULL: ‘Studies should respond to the needs of our people’
The Director of Curative Services in the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children, Dr. Grace Maghembe, has challenged researchers in the country to ensure that they give priority to investigations aimed at shaping actions and policy.
She sounded the call today here when officially opening a day-long engagement event to officially kick off the Global RECAP program implementation in Tanzania. The inception event was done at a day-long meeting and special community awareness raising activity at Chadulu area in the capital which was colored by a traditional performance carrying the message on preventing non-communicable diseases.
“It’s time now that researchers focus on issues affecting our people when planning their studies. I’m glad that this project tackles one of the issues identified by the government as priority,” said Dr. Maghembe in her opening remarks. #
