WOMEN’S DAY 2022: Together, we can #BreakTheBias
It’s Women’s Day today! Ifakara Health Institute Chief Executive Director has issued a special statement in which he affirms IFAKARA commitment to give women staff of the organization equal rights, opportunities and the future they deserve.
“Since its inception in 1956, Ifakara Health Institute has been working hard to ensure that women get an equal future they deserve in their career. The principle of equal opportunity has guided our planning and measures to provide a work environment where women are free from bias, stereotypes and discrimination based on their gender,” reads the statement in part.
Dr. Masanja also highlights IFAKARA progress in improving the circumstances of women staff. “We’re proudly happy to have women representation in all key decision-making organs i.e., the Board of Governors, Board of Trustees, Scientific Advisory Committee, Finance Audit and Risk Committee and the Management Committee, albeit not the desired 50-50 in some.
