CAUTION: Ifakara recruitments observe the law, regulations and professionalism
Ifakara Health Institute has issued a public statement distancing itself from fake calls for employment in which blackmailers deceive job seekers by using the Ifakara name to call them to fake jobs, with some of them claiming they would “successfully” facilitate their job applications.
The one-page statement, issued by the Knowledge Management and Communications Unit, cautions the public against such blackmailers, and recommend the use of authorized channels of communication when seeking job opportunities advertised by the Institute. The channels are: the Ifakara website (www.ihi.or.tz) and social media platforms (Twitter and Facebook) using a handle: @ifakarahealth.
The statement has been issued against the backdrop of reports that some dishonest people, particularly in Morogoro Region, were using the Ifakara name to deceive people that they would facilitate them in securing employment at Ifakara.
Ifakara Health Institute is the leading public health research outfit in Africa and one of the regular employers in Tanzania where most people prefer to work. With an employment rate of 9.7 percent (from Tanzania’s National Bureau of Statistics – 2018), the Institute is victim to such blackmailers looking to take advantage of the situation.
The statement has been issued in the local (Kiswahili) language.
