Data Officer

Iman Irema is a Data Officer with expertise in Data Systems. He has 5 years of experience working with Data Collection Software Applications, Data Hosting, Datasets and Databases, particularly involving Health and Demographic Surveillance. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Information Technology from the National Institute of Transport, (NIT).

Officially Mr. Irema Joined the institute in August 2015. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Information Technology from the National Institute of Transport, (NIT).

At IHI, Mr. Irema managed data for different research projects including National-wide research projects such as SARA, FACT and SOAR. He has been one of the key developers for the SOAR project, which had multiple applications including community mobile data collection via ODK, an online data portal, and a routine data archiving system.

Mr.  Irema is currently working as software developer and data manager for BOHEMIA, a multinational project which aims to reduce Malaria transmission by administering ivermectin to humans and livestock in different Ecological and Epidemiological settings in East and Southern Africa, specifically Tanzania and Mozambique.

Mr. Irema also provides technical support to the Institutional Data Repository (NADA) and DSS (Demographic Surveillance System). He participates in scientific report writing; presentations; and actively engages in different Ministerial M&E technical meetings.
