Tajiri Laizer is a Research Officer within the Environmental Health & Ecological Sciences department at Ifakara Health Institute. Currently working in the Data Science and Mathematical team at the Insitute, he applies his statistical expertise and machine learning skills for research and data analysis projects in public health.
With five years of experience as a Statistician, Tajiri has developed a strong background in applying statistical methods to derive insights into health-related issues and is adept at employing machine learning models for various applications. He has contributed to significant projects such as the Data Science and Capacity Building Project at Ifakara, where he applied data-driven solutions to healthcare challenges, supported the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) in data processing and analysis, and conducted statistical analysis leading to actionable insights. Throughout his career, Tajiri has achieved notable milestones, published research, and presented at conferences. Committed to mentorship and training, he plays a crucial role in helping junior team members excel in their careers.
Tajiri holds a BSc degree in Statistics from the University of Dodoma. His long-term goals include furthering his expertise in data science and statistics to positively impact healthcare by collaborating on innovative projects and addressing complex health-related challenges.
