Arnold Sadikiel Mmbando is a Research Scientist at the Ifakara Health Institute, focusing on alternative ways to combat vector-borne diseases. He is currently leading a randomized household field trial assessing the influence of housing improvements on communicable disease prevalence among children in Mtwara, Tanzania.
Arnold holds a PhD in Biological Sciences from Durham University, United Kingdom. Over the course of his professional career, he has contributed to the creation, development, and assessment of a range of mosquito control tools, including aerial repellents, attracting-and-killing devices, and the push-pull approach. These innovations offer additional protection to individuals prior to sleeping.
