Advancing biomedical research for tuberculosis treatment and prevention

Tresphory Zumba is a Research Scientist in the field of biomedical research and clinical trials, with a focus on tuberculosis (TB) treatment and obstructive lung diseases. He holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Catholic University of Health and Allied Sciences (CUHAS).

Driven by a desire to contribute to the improvement of public health, Tresphory furthered his education by obtaining a Master of Public Health degree from Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) in 2023. 

With over nine years of experience in new TB drug development, Tresphory has been actively involved in various clinical trials aimed at finding more effective treatments for TB. His expertise extends to conducting obstructive lung disease research and performing spirometry, contributing significantly to the understanding and management of these conditions.

An advocate for collaboration and knowledge exchange, Tresphory has established partnerships with healthcare workers, community leaders, and advocacy groups. He believes that such partnerships are essential for enhancing the research process and ensuring the relevance and impact of research findings.

Currently serving as Project Manager in New TB drug development clinical trials at Ifakara Tresphory prioritizes creating a supportive work environment where all team members feel valued and respected.
