Leading the way in public health research

Jane Machange is a dedicated public health professional with a Master of Science in Public Health Research (MSc. PHR) from Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) (2021-2024) and a Bachelor of Health Systems Management (BHSM) from Mzumbe University (2013-2016). Currently serving as a Research Officer at the Vector Control Product Testing Unit (VCPTU) within the esteemed Ifakara Health Institute (IHI) since August 2023, Jane meticulously coordinates various projects to ensure alignment with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards.

With a wealth of professional experience, Jane has led impactful initiatives, including spearheading a team of enumerators at Mzumbe University to assess the adaptation and uptake of public health guidelines in Tanzania. As a dedicated volunteer at Mt. Meru Regional Referral Hospital, she played a pivotal role in preparing progress performance reports and conducting supportive supervision to maintain service quality across hospital departments.

Jane's career trajectory is marked by a steadfast commitment to advancing public health research. With a keen interest in disease modeling and spatial analysis, she envisions leveraging advanced studies, such as pursuing a doctorate degree, to collaborate on evidence-based strategies for disease prevention and control. Her current projects focus on evaluating vector control products and investigating Aedes aegypti ecology and control strategies, underscoring her dedication to pioneering research that informs targeted interventions and shapes public health policies for improved health outcomes worldwide. With her robust skill set in data analysis, research writing, and communication, Jane is poised to make significant contributions to global health initiatives, bridging the gap between research and practice to address pressing public health challenges.
