About the event

On 12 February 2026, Ifakara officially began the road to its 70th anniversary, which will be celebrated in November. The symbolic launch event took place in Ifakara at the Vectorsphere and brought together Ifakara’s management, Board of Trustees, media, and staff, both in person and online.

The event featured a symbolic ceremony, including the unveiling of the anniversary logo, the launch of the commemorative events calendar, and the reveal of the dedicated anniversary webpage.

Invited guests witnessed the official countdown to November and reflections on seven decades of science, innovation, and impact in Tanzania and beyond.
