This month, our Readers’ Choice feature highlights the groundbreaking work of Tanzanian scientists in developing genetically modified mosquitoes capable of blocking malaria transmission.

Additionally, on December 5, 2025, the Ifakara Health Institute and the Embassy of Switzerland renewed their long-standing partnership in Dar es Salaam. The renewed agreement, spanning 2026–2029, will support strategic priorities including climate and health pilot projects, capacity building for early-stage researchers, and translating research into policies and interventions that enhance public health in Tanzania.
