COMMEMORATION: Today, we honor the Zanzibar Revolution!
January 12 marks Zanzibar Revolution Day, a national holiday in Tanzania that commemorates the 1964 revolution, which ended the Sultanate’s rule after independence from Britain and paved the way for self-governance.
Zanzibar, the stunning archipelago along Tanzania’s coast, is also celebrated for its white-sand beaches, spice farms, rich history, and vibrant culture.
The Ifakara Health Institute extends warm wishes to all Tanzanians – Zanzibaris in particular - for a day of pride, reflection, and celebration!
