WORKSHOP: NEST360 Tanzania aligns goals for 2026
From 15–16 January 2026, the NEST360 (Newborn Essential Solutions & Technologies) Tanzania program—implemented by the Ifakara Health Institute, Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences, the Ministry of Health, and other partners—kicked off the year in Dar es Salaam with a strategic planning workshop to set priorities and a shared direction for 2026.
The two-day meeting brought together the Tanzania Country Team, Global Program representatives, Ministry of Health officials, regional and district representatives, maternal and newborn health stakeholders, Steering Committee members, and program leads.
Discussions centered on three core objectives: identifying where NEST360 should expand its support, safeguarding interventions that are already delivering results, and establishing a practical sustainability framework to guide implementation beyond the current phase of the program.
A key outcome of the workshop was consensus on priority areas for 2026—clarifying where NEST360 can drive impact through direct support, strategic partnerships, and policy-level influence, while protecting and strengthening existing gains.
Overall, the planning process reaffirmed NEST360 Tanzania’s commitment to an approach that is grounded in what is already working, responsive to emerging needs, and focused on long-term, sustainable impact for newborn and maternal health.
