From 20–24 April 2026, Biomedical Engineers gathered in Morogoro for a technical review workshop on the Health Technology Management Policy Guideline, bringing together key national and implementing partners to strengthen an important framework guiding health technology governance in Tanzania.

Participants included representatives from the Ministry of Health, the Ifakara Health Institute, Arusha Technological College, and the Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute, among others. Through structured technical sessions and collaborative discussions, stakeholders provided input to strengthen the policy’s usability, coherence, and strategic relevance.

The workshop aimed to critically review and refine the draft policy guideline following its submission for endorsement. The process focused on incorporating stakeholder feedback, addressing identified gaps, improving clarity, and ensuring full alignment with national health priorities and implementation realities. Particular emphasis was placed on ensuring the document is comprehensive, practical, and responsive to evolving health system needs.

The engagement underscored the importance of collaborative knowledge and policy translation in strengthening health systems. By convening technical experts and implementers, the workshop helped ensure that the revised guideline reflects both national direction and on-the-ground implementation experience.

The revised document is expected to move forward for further endorsement processes, contributing to improved management of health technologies across the health system.
