On Friday, January 27, 2023 Ifakara Health Institute staff based in Dar es Salaam and Bagamoyo got together for a day-long team building event held at the Ledger Plaza, Bahari Beach Hotel at Kunduchi on the outskirts of Dar es Salaam.

The theme for the event was: "Promoting a PROCESS ORIENTED approach to IFAKARA Business" with the day unfolding with a series of team-building actvities and exercises meant for relationship building between Ifakara staff from the two office branches.

During these activities and exercises, Ifakara staff had the opportunity to bond, know about each other and learn the most important aspects of working together as a team.

The day began with introductory welcomes led by Rahiya Shariff, Ifakara's Human Resurces Manager and also the event coordinator. Afterwards, everyone gathered together to engage in team-building activities which included Q&A sessions between individuals and groups, games, talent show among other exercises.

Later, there was an award giving session. Several staff were awarded for their contribution to the success and growth of the Institute in particular for their research work in science.

Also, among the award recepients were Drs. Honorati Masanja, Sarah Moore and Fredros Okumu whom earlier this year, were featured among the top 10% scientists globally - on The AD Scientific Index - for their outstanding performance based on research work’s impact.

The day ended with a friendly football match between team Ifakara-Dar playing against team Ifakara-Bagamoyo with the later winning the match by 2-0 goals.
