WORKSHOP: Ifakara innovation hub equips startups with product validation, market readiness skills

The Ifakara Innovation Hub (IIH) hosted a comprehensive PDP workshop for startups within the first cohort of the Hub's incubation program, aimed to provide participants with the necessary tools and knowledge to successfully validate and verify their products, ensuring they meet regulatory and market standards.

Held from June 18-20, 2024, at the Ifakara Health Institute offices in Mikocheni, Dar es Salaam, the three-day event is a crucial part of the incubation process for these startups, which are currently in the validation phase of their product development. 

Facilitated by Winnie Kibiru, a Technical Analyst from Villgro Africa, the workshop covered essential topics such as Medical Device Documentation, Quality Management Systems, Validation and Verification, as well as Investor Readiness and Fundraising Strategies.

Among the participants were innovative startups such as Mama Check, MBC Landbrug, LIRA, Lab X, and Plus Life. Throughout the workshop, these startups gained valuable insights and skills to enhance their quality management processes and refine their validation plans. Additionally, the workshop provided strategies to effectively prepare their Go-to-Market plans, ensuring their innovations can successfully reach and impact the healthcare market.

“This workshop is part of the incubation process of the 1st cohort startups, who are in the validation stage of their product development,” stated Rachel Magodi, the IIH Community Engagement Officer. “The workshop aims to capacitate the startups with tools and fundamentals for their undertake successful validation and verification of their product.”
