On July 31, 2024, scientists from the Ifakara Health Institute took part in a crucial webinar hosted by the UK's National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) at 11:00 AM East Africa Time, the event aimed to enhance health research collaboration between Tanzania and the UK.

Key stakeholders included Prof. Kara Hanson, Director of the Global Health Research Programme at NIHR, and Prof. Tumaini Nagu, Tanzania's Chief Medical Officer. The webinar explored leveraging NIHR's funding for Tanzania health research initiatives, discussing strategies for impactful funding, collaborative projects, and capacity building.

Prof. Hanson outlined NIHR's global health research agenda, while Prof. Nagu will highlighted Tanzania's research priorities. This meeting aligns with Tanzania's strategic goals to bolster research capabilities and address health challenges.
