VISIT: Ifakara hosts town councilors for an engaging research tour
Today, Ifakara Health Institute welcomed a delegation of councilors from the Ifakara Town Council and Masasi Town Council at its offices in Ifakara.
Invited by the Director of Ifakara Town Council, the councilors participated in a tour of the Ifakara research site at the Vector Sphere and got to learn about the various malaria research work conducted at the site.
This visit was part of the council’s educational tour within Ifakara Town Council, focusing on revenue collection, environmental cleanliness, and exploring regional opportunities and institutions.
Faraji Abilahi, the Ifakara Community Engagement Coordinator, led the tour alongside Ifakara scientist Dr. Lina Finda and other team members from the Vector Sphere.
Following the tour, Abilahi remarked, "Today, we welcomed a total of 30 councilors from both Masasi and Ifakara. We successfully conducted a tour of the Vector Sphere...they thoroughly enjoyed the visit and have expressed interest in returning for a more comprehensive tour."
