WORKSHOP: Field interviewers empowered to evaluate food security
From October 8 to 12, Ifakara Health Institute conducted a training session for field interviewers involved in the NOURISH Tanzania project in Dodoma. The project aims to empower smallholder farmers and enhance food security across five key regions in Tanzania Mainland.
Launched in January this year, NOURISH Tanzania is being implemented by Ifakara Health Institute with funding from SNV Netherlands Development Organization. The initiative is set to transform the agricultural sector and improve the livelihoods of vulnerable farming households in the central-northern and southern highlands regions of Tanzania.
The five-day training involved 41 field interviewers and representatives from the Ministry of Health (MoH), Mininst of Community Development Gender, Women and Special Groups (MoCDGWSGs) and the President’s Office Regional Administration and Local Government (PO-RALG). Ifakara research scientists involved in the project, led by Dr. Esther Elisaria, the Principal Investigator and Farida Katunzi, the Project Leader of NOURISH Tanzania were also present.
