#IDWGS2025: Empowering women in science, advancing global health

On the 10th International Day of Women and Girls in Science (IDWGS), we celebrated the remarkable women at Ifakara Health Institute—our scientists, researchers, innovators, collaborators, and partners—who drive scientific excellence for public health impact.
With this year’s theme, “Unpacking STEM Careers: Her Voice in Science,” we recognize the diverse contributions of women in science, research, and innovation. At Ifakara, women are leading cutting-edge research, advancing life-saving innovations, and shaping the future of global health.
Our commitment remains firm: to empower women and foster an inclusive research environment, and inspire the next generation of women scientists. Together, we continue to break barriers, amplify voices, and ensure that women’s contributions to science are recognized and valued.
