Today, Ifakara Health Institute, in collaboration with St. Francis Referral Hospital and the University Hospital Basel, kicks-off the 6th Ifakara Colposcopy Course. This program brings together medical professionals across Tanzania to enhance their expertise in cervical cancer screening and treatment.

The intensive week-long course, running from February 11–17, focuses on strengthening both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in colposcopy, VIA screening, and advanced treatment techniques. 

Expert facilitators include Dr. Andre Borris, Dr. Andreas Martin Kaufmann from Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, and Dr. Dorcas Mnzava from Ifakara, and other leading specialists.

Building on the success of the five previous courses, this year’s program integrates lectures, hands-on clinical practice and interactive discussions to provide participants with a comprehensive learning experience. Additionally, trainees will participate in field-based practical training at Illovo Sugar Company in Kidatu later in the week, further strengthening their clinical expertise.
