Today, as Christians worldwide observe Ash Wednesday – which marks the beginning of the Lenten season, Ifakara Health Institute extends best wishes to all Christians and our partners a great sacred season of fasting, repentance, prayer, and renewal. 

Lent, observed by some Christian denominations, is a 40-day period of fasting that begins today and ends on April 17, 2025, commemorating the 40 days that Jesus spent fasting in the desert, preparing for His ministry. This time calls for spiritual renewal, sacrifice, and deepening one’s faith.
