FORUM: Ifakara champions women leadership at inter-generational dialogue

The Ifakara Health Institute was represented at the Women Shaping the Future: Inter-generational Conversations forum held on March 18, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency in Dar es Salaam. Ms. Sheikha-Salum Mohamed and Dr. Zawadi Mageni-Mboma joined a distinguished group of 100 invited guests for a day of thought-provoking discussions centered on mentorship, leadership, and empowering women across generations and industries.

Organized as part of The Invested In Series by Studiored Communications, the event aimed to inspire, empower, and connect women leaders and emerging professionals. The program featured impactful panel discussions, mentorship dialogues, and shared experiences from accomplished women in public service, business, and creative industries.

Key speakers included Ambassador Liberata Mulamula, Former Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation; Jokate Mwegelo, Secretary General of CCM's Youth Wing (UVCCM) and former District Commissioner; Anne Sophie Avé, Ambassador of France to Tanzania; Amb. Mindi Kasiga, Director of Government Communications at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation; Prudence Masako, Country Director of CARE Tanzania; and Jennifer Bash, Founder and CEO of AKTZ Industries Ltd. The discussions were moderated by PR & Communication Specialist Austin Makani and Dr. Doris Rwebangira, Managing Partner at Studiored Communications.

Ms. Mohamed and Dr. Mageni-Mboma engaged in conversations that highlighted the importance of intergenerational learning, resilience, and inclusive leadership in shaping the future. The forum provided an opportunity for women to exchange insights, build networks, and explore pathways to overcoming barriers in their respective fields.
