The editors’ choice top story highlights a significant issue in global health research—the routine exclusion of people with disabilities. A recent analysis revealed over a third of 2,700 reviewed trials explicitly excluded people with disabilities, even though 96% could have easily included them with minor adjustments.
And on the readers' top story - this one was most read in both the Ifakara website and social media platforms – scientists uncovered a previously unknown mosquito group within the anopheles gambiae complex, which is a major malaria vector. Named the pwani molecular form, this distinct taxon is found only along Tanzania’s coast.
For our top event of the month, we highlight our scientists’ participation at the 24th Joint Annual Health Sector Policy Review Meeting held in Dodoma. The meeting placed a strong emphasis on reviewing the progress of the Health Sector Strategic Plan V (HSSP V).
The round-up summarizes other news, events, new projects and publications.
