FORUM: NEST360 Tanzania showcases innovation at child health congress in Arusha

From July 23–25, 2025, the Tanzania Child Health & Welfare Congress was held in Arusha under the theme "Quality of Care: Empowering Families to Ensure Wellness in Every Child's Journey." The event brought together child health champions from across Tanzania and the region, with a strong focus on improving child health outcomes through family-centered care and quality service delivery.
Among the key highlights was NEST360 Tanzania’s participation, represented by where the team proudly exhibited its portfolio of life-saving innovations designed to improve newborn outcomes. The display attracted widespread interest and praise, particularly during a high-level visit to the booth by distinguished leaders from the Ministry of Health and regional health institutions.
Dr. Seif Shekalaghe, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health (MOH), was joined by Dr. Felix Bundala, MOH Assistant Director for Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health, and Dr. Ntuli Kapologwe, Director General of the East, Central and Southern Africa Health Community (ECSA-HC). Their engagement underscored the importance of investing in infrastructure and technology to advance child health in Tanzania and neighboring countries.
The congress served as a platform for open dialogue on the state of child health and welfare in Tanzania, identifying both persistent challenges and forward-looking solutions. It also aimed to galvanize political will and mobilize investment for child-focused health interventions.
In recognition of its contributions, NEST360 received a certificate of participation, accepted on behalf of the program by NEST360 Biomedical Engineer Hope Peter.
