New policy dialogue announced
A high-level policy dialogue will soon highlight how countries are financing health services for women, children, and adolescents. The event, titled “Funding the Future: Effective Financing Models to Advance Women’s, Children’s and Adolescents’ Health in Times of Crisis”, is scheduled for 9 September 2025 from 14:00 to 15:30 CEST [15:00 to 16:30 EAT].

It is part of the Countdown GFF Policy Analysis Collaboration and coincides with the forthcoming Global Health Action Special Series examining national priorities, processes, and investments under the Global Financing Facility (GFF).

Why the conversation matters now
Health systems worldwide are under pressure from multiple crises—from pandemics to economic shocks and climate impacts. This dialogue will bring governments, civil society, and development partners together to review evidence on what has worked in health financing, identify areas where course corrections are needed, and explore how funding can become more sustainable, equitable, and resilient.

The goal is to strengthen financing strategies that ensure women, children, and adolescents are not left behind.

Event details and next steps
The webinar will feature presentations of new findings from the Countdown GFF Policy Analysis Collaboration, alongside perspectives from policymakers, advocates, and researchers. Hosted by the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn & Child Health (PMNCH), the session will also launch a wider dissemination drive ahead of the official release of the Global Health Action Special Series.
