TRAINING: Ifakara, partners to host specialized course in lung ultrasound
The Ifakara Health Institute in collaboration with the St. Francis Regional Referral Hospital, will host a specialized Course in Lung Ultrasound. The course will take place from November 17–19, 2025, at the St. Francis Regional Referral Hospital (SFRRH) in Ifakara, Morogoro.
About the Training
This three-day intensive course focuses on introducing and refining lung ultrasound techniques for clinical practice. The course includes alternating theory with practical training, is accredited by the Medical Council of Tanganyika, and CPD points will be awarded. The goal is to enable participants to make accurate diagnoses by interpreting sonographic findings and integrating them with clinical information.
Topic covered include
- Basics of lung ultrasonography
- Normal and pathological lung ultrasound findings
- Bonus sessions on focused echocardiography and transcranial ultrasound
Guidance from renowned experts
The course is organized by a panel of medical professionals from the Ifakara Health Institute and St. Francis Referral Hospital, including PD Dr. Martinn Rohaceck, Dr. Robert Moshiro, and Dr. Getrud Mollel.
