On this World AIDS Day, George Mfanando, a Counselor at the Chronic Diseases Clinic of Ifakara (CDCI), shared his blog, “Overcoming Disruption: My Journey of Hope on World AIDS Day 2025.” In it, he offers a heartfelt account of life with HIV and the transformative impact of sustained care and support.

Now serving as a counselor and PPI Core Representative, George helps others navigate the same fears he once faced, showing that survival is possible—and that life with HIV can be full of purpose, strength, and joy.

His story also brings to life the urgency of the 2025 World AIDS Day theme, “Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response,” highlighting how funding cuts and service disruptions continue to threaten lives and communities.

Ultimately, George’s blog is a testament to the power of uninterrupted care, compassionate support, and community. It reminds us that behind every statistic is a person whose life, dignity, and future depend on a strong and resilient AIDS response.
