Candidates will undertake specific training within our team, for a cutting-edge research project focused on building the capacity for malaria molecular surveillance in Tanzania and beyond.

Position Summary
Ifakara Health Institute seeks qualified interns to join the second phase of the Molecular Surveillance of Malaria in Mainland Tanzania (MSMT2) project. This role entails managing sample collection, processing, and analysis according to SOPs, and maintaining laboratory equipment through planned preventive measures. It involves accurately recording and storing specimen data, performing technical procedures, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring effective communication with project and hospital staff. 

Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science, molecular biology, or biotechnology obtained within the past 24 months. Preference is given to those registered with the Health Laboratory Practitioners Council. A minimum GPA of 3.8 and exceptional science leadership potential are required.
