Research Officer Intern (1 Post) - Ifakara

The intern will evaluate, diagnose, treat and manage patients with HIV and or TB in the in- and outpatient facilities at St. Francis Regional Referral Hospital (SFRRH).

Position Summary
Ifakara Health Institute seeks a qualified Research Officer Intern who will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, treating and managing patients with HIV and or TB in the in- and outpatient facilities at St. Francis Regional Referral Hospital (SFRRH). The intern will be required to deliver improved services in collaboration with the hospital, government authorities, and health implementing partners. The Research Officer will supervise and train younger colleagues on diagnostic workup and patient management, and collaborate within the existing research platform of the Kilombero and Ulanga Antiretroviral Cohort (KIULARCO). They will also be encouraged to develop their own research agenda and research project(s).

Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in Medicine (MD) with a certificate of internship. They must also be registered to the Medical Council of Tanganyika (or application in progress).
