Position Summary

Ifakara Health Institute is seeking qualified and experienced Assistant Nursing Officer Interns to join the Clinical Trials Facility in Bagamoyo. The successful candidates will work at selected clinical trial sites where recruitment and follow-up visits for study participants are conducted. They will provide general nursing care for medical conditions presented by study participants, ensure adherence to study protocols, and maintain accurate medical and research records.

He/she will participate in designing data collection tools, educate volunteers using approved study materials, obtain informed consent, assess vital signs, collect and label specimens, assist senior study nurses with workflow planning, counsel volunteers, and provide nursing care in accordance with treatment guidelines. The role also involves maintaining participant rights and consent, keeping relevant medical documentation, and supporting clinical trial activities as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess a Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery and be enrolled and licensed to practice by the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council (TNMC). They must demonstrate basic digital skills, knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), effective communication abilities, and the capacity to work with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines. Proficiency in both English and Kiswahili is required.
