Position Summary
Ifakara Health Institute is seeking qualified and experienced Clinical Officer Interns to join the Clinical Trials Facility in Bagamoyo. The successful candidates will be stationed at selected clinical trial sites, where they will provide clinical care to study participants, ensure adherence to study protocols, and support participant recruitment and follow-up activities.
He/she will participate in community sensitization meetings, treat patients according to national standard treatment guidelines, review laboratory results, develop study SOPs, and ensure compliance with ethical and regulatory standards. The role also includes supervising study procedures, building strong community and stakeholder relationships, and supporting community engagement activities.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must possess a Diploma in Clinical Medicine and be enrolled and licensed to practice as a Clinical Officer by the Medical Council of Tanganyika. They must have basic digital skills, knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), effective communication skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines. Proficiency in both English and Kiswahili is required.
