Position Summary
The Ifakara Health Institute (IHI) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled graduate to join our team as a Research Scientist Intern to train in molecular biology and related studies. The role demands a robust understanding of molecular biology techniques. The selected candidate will receive specialized training while contributing to a cutting-edge research project, Transmission Zero (T0)—a global malaria research programme at IHI working to develop innovative genetic tools to block malaria transmission in Africa.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to build capacity in advanced research while making a meaningful contribution to transgenesis research at IHI and across Tanzania, supporting the broader goal of malaria control and elimination.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must hold a master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Parasitology, or a related field, and have knowledge of safety protocols and laboratory practices in molecular biology and parasitology-related research.
