The Research Officer will ensure that delegated phases of GLP-compliant studies are conducted according to approved protocols and SOPs, producing high-quality data and reports on time.
Position Summary
Ifakara Health Institute is seeking two (2) qualified Research Officers to join the team at the Bagamoyo Office. The Research Officer will ensure that delegated phases of GLP-compliant studies are conducted according to approved protocols and SOPs, producing high-quality data and reports on time and to the satisfaction of the sponsor. They will provide leadership within the testing facility and ensure that all GLP activities in the testing area are completed accurately, safely, and efficiently.
He/she will assist in developing study plans and amendments, ensure that all study-related documents are available and adhered to, monitor protocol compliance, and take corrective action in case of deviations. The role also includes full documentation of raw data, contributing to final report writing, presenting study updates, ensuring validation and calibration of equipment, overseeing storage and archiving of study materials, and ensuring that all data forms, logs, and checklists are maintained.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Aquaculture, or a related field. Required experience includes involvement in GLP studies, report writing, data analysis using STATA, and phase one experimental procedures. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office and possess strong teamwork and independent working abilities.
