Position Summary

Ifakara Health Institute is seeking a qualified Field Worker to be based at the Bagamoyo Branch to support the Transmission Zero Project in conducting research activities on mosquito-borne diseases and surveillance. The successful candidate will play a key role in implementing field and semi-field research activities focused on malaria vector control and mosquito surveillance.

The Field Worker will be responsible for conducting mosquito-borne disease research activities in accordance with approved project protocols and surveillance guidelines. This includes collecting field data and biological samples, ensuring accurate documentation and proper storage, and maintaining high standards of data quality and integrity. The role also involves supporting Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) teams in generating summaries and operational reports derived from mosquito surveillance data to guide program implementation and decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must hold a Secondary Education Certificate, Certificate, or Diploma in Laboratory Technology or a related scientific field and at least two (2) years of research experience in vector control, mosquito biology, and rearing laboratory mosquito colonies.
