Field Worker

Ifakara Health Institute is looking for a qualified and experienced individual to fill the vacant positions of Fieldworker in the District Entomologist Project. The Officer will;

  1. Adhere to protocols and standard operating procedures for experiments that will be provided.
  2. Conduct mosquito trapping and collections, larval collections.
  3. Supervise and perform sorting, identification, and packaging of mosquitoes in the field station
  4. Ensure all data and samples collected from the experiments are properly identified, recorded, stored, and well labelled
  5. Making sure that all mosquitoes which need to be transported to the respective laboratories are prepared on time and properly packed.
  6. Ensure that date entry is done for recorded data.
  7. Assist volunteers and village leaders working within the project(s).
  8. Maintain all project(s) equipment in good order and custody.
  9. Implement quality control procedures and ethical guidelines are met in the running of the project(s).
  10. Maintain constant liaison with community members in the study area to ensure the smooth running of project(s) activities.
  11. Conduct any other duties as may be assigned by the Project Leader.

Qualification and Experience

  1. Form four/ six and 3 years of working experience
