A research and InNOvation Partnership for enhancing the surveillance and control of mosquito VECtors of emerging arboviruses - "INOVEC"

The INOVEC project proposes to build a large pan-European, cross-sectoral, multidisciplinary and international network to enhance and promote scientific and technical knowledge on the surveillance and control of mosquito vectors of emerging arboviruses.

The project's primary goal is to develop, optimize and promote integrated approaches and entomological surveillance tools. INOVEC seeks to stimulate both basic and applied research, strengthen capacities, promote career development and facilitate knowledge and technology transfer to countries facing an increasing risk of arboviral diseases. Ultimately, the project aims to deploy tools tailored to local needs in an integrated manner, taking into consideration the specific needs of the local situation, communities, and available resources.

Ifakara Health Institute is a member of a consortium consisting of 21 partners from 12 countries dedicated to implementing the INOVEC project, led by the Institut de Recherche pour le Developpement (IRD), France.

The INOVEC partners include Institut de Recherche pour le Developpement, Bayer Aktiengesellschaft, Biogents, Centre de cooperation Internationale en recherche Agronomique pour le Developpement, Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, Ecole Nationale Superieure de l'Electronique et de ses Applications, Enzyquest private company, Idryma Technologias Kai Erevnas, and Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Irideon s.l.
