Improving Tuberculosis Case Finding among People Living with HIV/AIDS in HIV clinics in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania: A n Operational Research

mortality and contribute to global TB control efforts. The results of our study will inform national and international health authorities what interventions are most effective to reduce the TB burden among HIV/AIDS patients, and how the intervention can influence and reduce TB transmission in the community.

The study will increase the awareness of TB and the major co-morbidities in the community. Our data will allow policy makers in Tanzania and other African countries with similar HIV/TB burden to investigate the cost and cost effectiveness of screening unstable HIV patients by using Gene Xpert with the aim of improving TB case detection and cutting TB transmission in the community.

The close collaboration with the national authorities will guarantee that information will flow into decision making process of the national authorities#
