Into the Wild: New Models for Community Engagement with Mosquito

Into the Wild: New Models for Community Engagement with Mosquito

This project seeks to develop new models for robust community engagement with the novel vector control interventions, grounded in systematic social scientific research and extensive input from stakeholders. The project combines research with past experiences of insect releases, international guideline development via the Pan-Africa Mosquito Control Association, and a proof of principle stakeholder engagement process in Tanzania.

The project brings together social scientists, public health practitioners, entomologists and vector biologists. It seeks to formulate and test a set of principles for effective community engagement with novel vector control interventions, specifically those that involve the release of laboratory altered insects.
